Sort hands by possible melds, not only by suit. Group cards that could become either sequence or set, then ask whether your next discard improves or worsens that plan.

Middle ranks (5–9) often connect more combinations than aces-only hoarding. Balance connectivity with pure sequence priority — invalid declares remain a major cost.

Endgame: minimize deadwood over chasing thin outs when an opponent might declare soon. Evaluating risk means accepting that some hands are better dropped.

In deals or tournament formats, stack pressure can matter, but never at the cost of your own pure sequence integrity. These are decision frameworks, not promises of profit.
